Bio
Dr. Gunzenhaeuser earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He went on to do an internship and residency in internal medicine at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. Then, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he did a residency in anesthesiology with subspecialty training in pain management.
Before joining AAC and PMA in 1997, Dr. Gunzenhaeuser was chairman of the department of anesthesiology at St. Luke Hospitals in Northern Kentucky and attending anesthesiologist at the hospitals’ Pain Care Institute. Dr. Gunzenhaeuser is one of six physicians in our interventional pain practice through PMA, of which he served as director, at one time.
Dr. Gunzenhaeuser is a diplomate of the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology, and the American Society of Pain Medicine. He is a member of the American, Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati Societies of Anesthesiologists, as well as the American College of Physicians.
