Tailor Macros to Your Case Before Applying Them

This sheet describes two updates to Epic Anesthesia.

Try It Out

Try It Out

A.      If you want to apply a macro to a case but don't want to apply a particular portion of the macro, you can now clear the check boxes next to the items you don't want. For example, if the patient is allergic to cefazolin, clear that medication's check box before applying the macro so you don't have to remove it from the case later. In addition, the Select Macro window alerts you to potential interactions by showing the interaction icon () next to the relevant medications.

B.       You have additional options when applying macros that specify a Quick Event sequence. You can:

§   Replace the existing sequence in the chart with the sequence in the macro,

§   Keep the existing sequence in the chart, or

§   Add the sequence in the macro before or after the sequence in the chart.
